Monitoring Procedure

With the following criteria met:
- Engine not in the starting position
- Misfire detection not operative
- Engine speed greater than 2500 rpm
- Battery voltage less than 10V

A hardware check is made on the coils when they are due to be energized in accordance with ignition timing. If they are not energized correctly a counter is started; once this exceeds a set number of non-operations a failure judgement is made and the relevant DTC(s) P0351-P0358 will be flagged.

For DTCs P1367 & P1368 the checking criteria and judgement is the same, except that the hardware check is made on the coils relevant to each amplifier.

Non-operations will result in a failure judgement for the affected amplifier.
