Fuel Pump: Description and Operation

A single fuel pump is mounted in the tank. Fuel is drawn by the pump from the fuel tank and supplied via the fuel lines and 70 micron filter to the fuel rails.

The amount of fuel being injected into the engine is controlled by the engine management system.

Fuel Pump & Evaporative Loss Flange:

The fuel pump which is located inside the fuel tank, is energised by an ECM controlled relay. Fuel is drawn by this pump and supplied to the fuel injectors via the fuel line, filter and fuel rails.

Servicing of the fuel pump requires fuel tank removal.
