EGR Valve: Service and Repair

Removal
1. Disconnect vehicle battery ground lead. Service and Repair





2. Remove air intake tube MAF sensor, & air cleaner cover assembly





3. Disconnect EGR valve multiplug





4. Place a coolant drain receptacle under the vehicle
5. Disconnect the EGR coolant hose from the throttle body & plug orifices





6. Remove the fixings, transfer pipe, at the EGR valve





7. Remove the fixings, EGR valve, to throttle body
Reposition the valve to gain access to the coolant return hose clip





8. Undo the hose clips (2) at the EGR valve and pull the valve clear


Installation
1. Fitting a new EGR valve assembly is the reverse of the removal procedure ensuring that new seals are used. See Battery Reconnection Procedure. Service and Repair





2. Tighten the fixings to specification





3. Tighten the fixings to specification
4. Correct the coolant level as required
