How Does It Work?

Real time data is transferred along the two wire network in the form of binary messages - a series of zeros (0) and ones (1).

The two wires are twisted together to suppress electrical noise and interference.

Each message is transmitted via CAN in a cyclic manner and is used by any module, or modules, requiring the data in that message. An example being wheel speed; emanating from the (ABS/TC Control Module), to be used by the Instrument Cluster to display the vehicle speed on the speedometer, the cruise control system to modulate vehicle speed and to control "features" such as automatic audio system volume control.
