Fuel Level Sensor: Service and Repair

Removal

WARNING: ENSURE THAT ALL SAFETY PROCEDURES ARE OBSERVED & THAT FIRE EXTINGUISHERS ARE AVAILABLE.

1. Disconnect the battery ground lead.
2. Drain the fuel tank.





3. With the tank liner removed, disconnect the sensor harness.





4. Using special tool 18G 1001, remove the sensor retaining ring.





5. Remove the sensor assembly & discard the seal.

Installation

6. Fitting a new level sensor is the reverse of the removal procedure, noting that a new seal must be fitted.
