Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

Removal

WARNING: ENSURE THAT THE ENGINE IS COLD BEFORE COMMENCING WORK

1. Disconnect the battery ground lead.





2. Remove the engine cover.





3. Slacken the coolant reservoir cap to relieve coolant pressure & re-tighten.





4. Disconnect harness plug from the ECT sensor, remove the sensor & sealing washer.

Installation





5. Fitting is the reverse of the removal procedure, noting that a new sealing washer should be used & tighten the sensor as specified.
6. Check & adjust the coolant level as required.
