Fault Modes
Fault Mode 1:
These failures will isolate the ABS/TCCM from the system resulting in the loss of all messages normally transmitted and received by the ABS/TCCM.
Fault Mode 2:
This failure will isolate the TCM from the system resulting in the loss of all messages normally transmitted and received messages by the TCM.
Fault Mode 3:
This failure will isolate the ECM from the system resulting in the loss of all messages normally transmitted and received messages by the ECM.
Fault Mode 4:
This failure will isolate the 'J' gate from the system resulting in the loss of all messages from other nodes.
NOTE: Because the network remains intact, fault 4 does not affect the external diagnostic capability.
Fault Mode 5:
These failures will isolate the Instrument cluster (INST) from the system resulting in the loss of all messages normally transmitted by the INST.
Fault Mode 6:
These failures will divide the network so that communication between the TCM and ABS/TCCM will remain, similarly communication between the ECM and INST will be unaffected.
Fault Mode 7:
This failure will affect the network so that only communication between the ECM and INST will be possible.
Fault Mode 8:
This failure will affect the network so that only communication between the ABS/TCCM and TCM will be possible.
Fault Mode 9:
The failure will prevent ALL network communication
