Windows: Adjustments
After fitting a new regulator, the fully UP position of the glass must be checked and reset by adjustment of the upper limit stop on the regulator assembly. If this stop is not set correctly, either the glass will not seal fully, or it will enter too far (up to 10 mm) into the seal; this will then prevent the required automatic drop of 12 mm when the door(s) are opened. The correct setting of the mechanical limit stop is when the glass has entered the top seal by 6.5 mm. This can be achieved by placing a strip of masking tape along the top edge of the glass. Measure down 6.5 mm from the top of the glass and draw a line on the tape. Close the glass so that it enters the seal, just to the drawn line. Set the upper mechanical stop on the regulator.
Lower and raise the glass to confirm the setting. Remove the tape. If necessary, set the Tilt adjustment at the rear of the glass so that the glass is parallel.
If the power supply to the driver or passenger door module has been disconnected (battery disconnected, module unplugged or fuse removed) the system must re-learn the glass operating characteristics. Perform the Battery Reconnection Procedure. Service and Repair
