Drive Shaft Fasteners - Revised Torque Specifications
ISSUE:
Revised torque specifications have been introduced in production for the nuts and bolts that secure the drive shaft to the gearbox and final drive flanges, from VIN 780060.
ACTION:
The same revised torque specifications now used in productions should be used on all Sedan Range vehicles from VIN 720001 onwards if the drive shaft fasteners are loosened. Always install new nylon-insert nuts. The existing bolts may be reused if they are undamaged.
FRONT FASTENERS
4 nuts and bolts - transmission output flange to universal joint flange
Torque specification 40 Nm (30 lb ft)
REAR FASTENERS
3 nuts and bolts - flexible coupling to final drive flange
Torque specification 82 Nm (61 lb ft)
3 nuts and bolts - flexible coupling to drive shaft flange
