Refill (Top Up)

TRANSMISSION FLUID TOP UP

CAUTION: Before starting the procedure, ensure that the transmission control module is connected and functioning correctly.

1. With the vehicle on a level surface, do the following:
- Let the vehicle stand for at least two minutes.
- Ensure that the transmission fluid temperature is below 30°C before proceeding to the next step.





2. Select Park and start the engine.
- Check that the idle speed is between 600 and 750 RPM.





3. Remove the fluid level / filler plug.





4. Operate the gear selector lever, pausing for at least three seconds in each position.
- From Park to Drive.
- From Drive to Reverse.
- From Reverse to Park.

CAUTION: It is essential that only the specified fluid is used.

5. Top up with Esso ATF LT 71141 fluid until it starts to overflow from the level / filler plug.
- Wait until the flow of fluid has reduced to a trickle, or for at least one minute.





6. Fit the level / filler plug.
- Check that the fluid temperature has not exceeded 50°C.
