Wheels: Service and Repair






CAUTION: Do not use heat to loosen a seized lug nut; heat may damage the wheel & wheel bearings.

REMOVAL
1. Loosen, but do not remove, the lug nuts.
2. Raise & support the vehicle.





3. Remove the 5 lug nuts (1).
4. Remove the wheel & tire assembly (2).

INSTALLATION

CAUTION:
^ Ensure that there is no contamination of the of the wheel, hub or brake rotor contact surfaces.
^ Installation without metal to metal contact at the mounting surfaces may cause the lug nuts to loosen & allow the wheel to detach with the vehicle in motion.





1. Mount wheel and tire assembly (1).
2. Install & seat the lug nuts (2,4).
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Tighten the lug nuts (2,4) to specification.
