Pressure Regulating Solenoid: Service and Repair

Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground lead
2. Raise the vehicle on a suitable lift





- Carefully remove the drain plug and drain the transmission fluid

WARNING: TRANSMISSION FLUID MAY CAUSE SEVERE BURNS, ENSURE THAT ALL SAFETY PROCEDURES ARE OBSERVED





3. Remove fluid pan fixings (22)
- Remove the fluid pan & all traces of gasket material





4. Disconnect regulator/solenoid connectors (8)





5. Remove RH rear valve body securing screws (2)





6. Remove pressure regulator/solenoid retaining plate fixings (9)





7. Remove the relevant pressure regulator

Installation

8. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure, noting that a new pressure regulator "O" ring MUST be used








- Refer to specific tightening of fixings and related procedures

NOTE: Ensure extreme cleanliness & never reuse transmission fluid





9. Using a new gasket, install the fluid pan & tighten the fixings (22) as specified
10. Refill fluid.
