Mechanical Guard

Output voltage from the mechanical guard is rationalized against the outputs from the two pedal demand sensors. A judgement is made whether a fault lies in either the mechanical guard or demand sensors depending on the differences registered.
- Variation between the angles of the mechanical guard and pedal sensor #1.
- Variation between the angles of the mechanical guard and pedal sensor #2.

Should the differences in the above conditions exceed a calibration constant, then an initial counter is incremented. If the counter exceeds a preset limit, a failure judgement is made and DTC P1226 flagged.

DTCs P1227 & P1228 will be flagged if the mechanical guard output voltage falls outside a reference range for a given time.
