Turn Signal Cancel Cam: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

NOTE: Refer to Body And Frame for additional information for steps 1, 2 and 3 if required.

1. Remove underscuttle (under dash panel).
2 Remove the steering column lower cowl.
3. Remove the steering column upper cowl.





4. Remove the battery cover.
5. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

WARNING: Wait at least one minute before starting work, because the air bag is equipped with a back-up power source and may be inadvertently deployed.

6. Remove the driver's air bag module, refer to Airbags and Seatbelts.
7. Ensure that the steering wheel is in the straight ahead position.
8. Remove the steering wheel; refer to this section.





9. Disconnect the harness multiplugs as follows:
a. Disconnect the cancellation module multiplugs (1).
b. Release the wiper/washer multiplug (2) from the mounting bracket and disconnect it.
c. Release the flasher/headlamp switch multiplug (3) from the mounting bracket and disconnect it.





10. Remove the switch/assemblies cancellation module as follows:
a. Unscrew and remove the bolts (1) securing the switch assemblies/cancellation module to the mounting bracket.
b. Remove the steering column switchgear assembly (2).
c. Release the switch assemblies (3) from the module and mounting bracket.
d. Remove the switch assemblies/cancellation module (4).

INSTALLATION





1. Install and align the cancellation module and switch assemblies to the steering column mounting bracket as follows:
a. Install and align the flasher switch assembly (1) to the module mounting bracket.
b. Install and align the washer switch assembly (2) to the module mounting bracket.
c. Install and align the switchgear assembly (3) to the steering column.
d. Install and tighten the switch assemblies/cancellation module securing screws (4).





2. Connect the module harness multiplugs and install in the mounting bracket as follows:
a. Connect the module harness multiplugs (1).
b. Install the multiplugs in the mounting bracket (2).
c. Connect the switch assembly multiplugs (3).
d. Install the multiplugs in the mounting bracket (4).
3. Install the steering wheel.
4. Install the air bag.
5. Install the steering column upper cowl.
6. Install the steering column lower cowl.
7. Install the underscuttlel (under dash panel).





8. Reconnect the battery ground cable.
9. Install the battery cover.
