Brake Light Switch: Description and Operation

The brake switch is installed on the pedal box. When the foot brake is applied, the switch connects a ground to the stop lamp relay. The stop lamp relay then energizes and connects battery power to the stop lamps. The stop lamps operate with the ignition on or off.
