Windshield Washer Switch: Service and Repair

Column Switch Assembly Fig. 1:

Four fixing screws (1 Fig.1) are used to secure the column switch assembly to the steering column. The assembly comprises, a cancellation/cassette module (2 Fig.1), a mounting bracket (3 Fig.1) with fitted dimmer module (4 Fig.1) and audible warning speaker (5 Fig. 1), a indicator arm switch (6 Fig.1) and a wiper arm switch (7 Fig.1).

The cancellation/cassette module has a flexible coil connection for horns and airbag as it provides electrical continuity between the column airbag harness and the airbag assembly. To detach the windscreen wiper and washer switch from the column switch assembly, ensure that the power to the steering column is isolated and remove the airbag module and the steering wheel. NOTE: The column must remain in the straight ahead position on removing the cassette module.
