Remove and destroy Bulletin 3-133 Date 8/94. Replace with this Bulletin. Revisions are marked with a bar and bold text.

ISSUE:

All Engine Management and Transmission Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), for 1995 MY-on vehicles, MUST be reported to Jaguar. ANY PDU diagnostic interrogation of the Engine Control Module (ECM) or Transmission Control Module (TCM) must also be reported. This is necessary to comply with legislative requirements.

Use the Diagnostic Trouble Code Report form S-93, which may be ordered from the zone parts department. Jaguar will reimburse dealer 0.5 hrs to complete form S-93.

ACTION:

Technicians MUST use the Diagnostic Trouble Code Report form S-93 to report PDU interrogation of the ECM or TCM in the following cases:

^ CHECK ENGINE Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) on.

^ TRANSMISSION WARNING light on.

^ Engine management related customer complaint with no warning light on and PDU identifies the DTC(s).

^ When instructed by Jaguar.

Complete the report and promptly send the original to:

Use the 1995 XJS OBD II AJ16 Generic Engine Management System Manual to match the DTC to its appropriate system. If recorded DTCs apply to both the engine and transmission systems, use the engine warranty Fault Code listed below for claim submission.

NOTE:
The labor allowance has been established for completing the form and submitting it to Jaguar.

CLAIM SUBMISSION:

Dealers using DCS Version 6, release JG 14:

^ Enter Fault Codes (listed above) in the "Dealer Information" field.

^ Enter DTC(s) (number only, no letter prefix) in the "Diagnostic Code" field.

NOTE:
The system prompts DTC entry in the "Diagnostic Code" field if one of the listed Fault Codes is entered in the "Dealer Information" field.

Dealers with DCS version 5 or non-DCS dealers:

^ Enter DTC(s) in the "Claim Comments" field.
