ISSUE:

Front fog lamp assemblies are being returned under Warranty for investigation, following complaints of water ingress.

The fog lamps are vented through a filter which prevents the entry of water as a liquid. As a lamp cools after use, however, a trace of moisture in the atmosphere may be drawn into the housing, which in certain climatic conditions may condense and show as a mist, or as water droplets, on the front glass. However, when next in use, this small amount of water will evaporate through the open vent as the lamp becomes hot, without adversely affecting the performance of the lamp.

ACTION:

In case of a customer complaint of moisture in the fog lamps, advise the customer of the above design feature. Fog lamps should not be replaced when they contain a small amount of condensation.

WARRANTY POLICY:

Claims will not be accepted for condensation within lamp assemblies.
