Oil Line: Service and Repair



OIL COOLER HOSES, RENEW SC only

- Raise the vehicle on a ramp.




- Remove the nut from the clamp (1 Fig. 1) securing the oil cooler supply hose (2 Fig. 1) and return hose (3 Fig. 1) to the filter head.

- Place a drain tray under the filter head.

- Remove the `O' ring seals from the oil cooler hoses and fit blanking plugs to the hoses and filter head.

- Place a drain tray under the oil cooler.

- Remove the oil cooler return hose to cross member clip securing nut and remove the clip.

- Clean the area around the oil cooler quick-fit hose connector.

- Reposition the hose to oil cooler connector rubber boot for access to the connector.

- Disconnect the hose from the oil cooler using Service Tool JD 183 and fit blanking plugs to the hose and oil cooler.

- Remove the drain tray.

- Remove the hose and discard it.

- Place a new hose in position.

- Remove the blanking plugs from the filter head and original oil cooler hose; fit new `O' ring seals to the hoses.

- Connect the hoses to the filter head; fit and tighten the clamp nut.

- Remove the blanking plugs from the hose and oil cooler; lubricate the cooler stub pipe and fit the hose to the oil cooler ensuring that it is fully seated.

- Clean any residue oil occurring around the connector during reconnection.

- Reposition the rubber boot over the quick-fit connector.

- Fit the cooler return hose to cross member clip; fit and tighten the clip securing nut.

- Lower the vehicle on the ramp.

- Run the engine to circulate oil through the cooler.

- Check the oil level and top up as necessary.
