ISSUE:

Replacement hoods for 1995 MY Sedan Range Vehicles are not predrilled for the installation of the "Leaping Jaguar" hood ornament

ACTION:

If the hood panel of a 1995 MY Sedan Range vehicle is replaced, use the following procedure to install the "Leaping Jaguar" hood ornament

HOOD ORNAMENT INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Apply masking tape to the area where the hood ornament is to be installed.





2. Mark the centers of the four mounting holes using the dimensions in Illustration 1.

3. Drill pilot holes. Do not use excessive pressure while drilling to avoid distortion of the hood.

4. Enlarge the holes to the dimensions shown in the illustration.

5. Remove the masking tape and deburr the holes.

6. Apply etch primer to all exposed metal surfaces and paint the hood following Jaguar approved paint refinishing procedures.

7. Install the hood ornament last, after the hood has been fitted to the vehicle.

IMPORTANT:
The two # 2 posi-drive transit screws MUST be removed from the hood ornament before the vehicle is returned to service.
