Upper Wishbone




Upper Wishbone, Remove & Refit

^ Jack up the vehicle securely.

^ Position service tool JD 133 to the front suspension.

^ Lower the vehicle and engage the dowels in the slots of suspension turrets.

^ Compress the spring assembly by tightening the tool nut fully.

^ Jack up the vehicle securely.

^ Undo and remove wheel nuts.

^ Remove wheel / tire assembly.

^ Undo and remove upper ball joint bolts and caster shims.

^ Secure hub assembly to the suspension.

^ Remove upper wishbone pivot bolt / nut.

^ Remove pivot bolt and wishbone assembly.

^ Remove rear wishbone assembly.

^ Remove front wishbone assembly.

^ Position and align the base tool JD 160 on to a suitable press with the flat face upward.

Note: Tool JD 160 is a three piece tool, consisting of the tool base, a removal mandrel and an insertion mandrel.

^ Position the rear wishbone assembly on the press and locate the bush outer flange within the tool base (JD 160).





^ Position the bush removal mandrel (JD 160) to the bush, operate the press to remove the bush (Fig. 1)

^ Refit in reverse order to removal procedures.

Note: The rear wishbone bush flange should face the rear of the vehicle in the fitted condition.

Note: The front wishbone bush flange should face the front of the vehicle in the fitted position.
