Convertible Top - Water Leaks at Header Rail, Top Release Handles/Latches and Door Glass - Repair Procedure

ISSUE:

Water leaks around the header rail, top release handles/latches and door glass of 1995 MY XJS

Convertibles (VIN 194775 - 196509). The header rail seal was modified at VIN 196510 to drain water away from this area.

ACTION:

If water leaks in the area of the header rail and top release handles/latches and the door glass on 1995 MY XJS Convertibles within the VIN range, perform the following modification to the header rail seal.

HEADER RAIL SEAL MODIFICATION PROCEDURE

1. Fully retract the convertible top.




2. Mark the left and right side header rail seals using the dimensions in Illustration 1.

3. Cut off the excess seal material.

4. Dress the freshly cut edge of the seal with sandpaper.
