Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

CAUTION: Observe all fire hazard precautions detailed in FUEL SYSTEMS / SERVICE PRECAUTIONS, when working on open fuel systems.
Fuel system MUST be depressurized before disconnecting any fueling component.

1. Depressurize fuel system. Fuel Pressure Release
2. Remove center engine shield.
3. Note positions of injector electrical connectors and disconnect connectors.
4. Remove breather pipes that cross over fuel rail.
5. Cut tie straps securing harnesses to rail.
6. Disconnect fuel feed and return lines and fit protective plugs.

Fuel Rail:

7. Remove bolts securing fuel rail and remove it from intake manifold.

Fuel Injector:

8. Place rail in suitable work area and remove injectors.
9. Fit new injectors to rail.
10. Reassemble in reverse order. Be sure injectors are fully seated in manifold.
