Fuel Injector: Description and Operation
The basic design and operation of the fuel injectors is similar to the earlier type; however, the injector tips use a plate-type, twin-spray design. This design has several benefits: it aims a fuel spray a each intake valve throat, it is quieter in operation, and the tip is less prone to contamination. The injectors are secured to the
fuel rail with custom clips that ensure the twin jets of fuel are directed to the intake valve throats. A green band is used to identify the plate-type, twin-spray injector.
