Evaporator and Accumulator Hose

Evaporator and Accumulator Hose Assembly

Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Recover the refrigerant from the system.
3. Remove the evaporator and accumulator hose from the evaporator.
4. Remove the O-ring seal.
5. Remove the evaporator and accumulator hose from the accumulator.
6. Remove the O-ring seal.
7. Cap or plug all of the open connections.

Installation Procedure
1. Install a new O-ring seal.
Coat the O-ring seal with 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Note in Service Precautions.

2. Install the evaporator and accumulator hose to the accumulator.

Tighten
Tighten the hose to 41 N.m (30 lb ft).

3. Install a new O-ring seal.
Coat the O-ring with 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
4. Install the evaporator and accumulator hose to the evaporator.

Tighten
Tighten the hose to 41 N.m (30 lb ft).

5. Connect the negative battery cable.
6. Add refrigerant to the system.
7. Inspect the system for leaks.
