Valve Clearance: Adjustments

Rocker Arm Cover And Assembly:

1. Remove rocker cover.

2. Crank engine until mark on damper lines up with 0 mark on timing tab, in number one or four firing position.

Valve Adjustment Reference Chart:

3. With number one cylinder at TDC, adjust intake valves on cylinders one, five, six, and exhaust valves on cylinders one, two and three. Back out adjusting nut until lash is felt at pushrod, turn in adjusting nut until all lash is removed, then turn adjusting nut an additional one and one half turns.

4. With number four cylinder at TDC, adjust intake valves on cylinders two, three, four, and exhaust valves on cylinders four, five and six. Back out adjusting nut until lash if felt at pushrod, turn adjusting nut until all lash is removed, then turn adjusting nut an additional one and one half turns.

5. Install rocker cover.
