Indicators

The indicator lights are controlled by different conditions set forth in their associated systems. See the associated system for the indicator light circuit description.

Low Fuel Warning Light
When there is an adequate amount of the fuel in the fuel tank, the resistance of the fuel tank unit is very high and the low fuel warning light will not go ON. When the fuel level becomes low, the resistance of the fuel tank decreases and allows current flow through the low fuel warning light and the light goes ON.

Bulb Check:
With the ignition switch in START and the clutch start switch closed, battery voltage is applied through fuse 12 to the bulb check relay coil and through fuse 7 to the "BRAKE" warning, low fuel warning and charge warning lights. The bulb check relay contacts close and provides ground for the "BRAKE" warning and low fuel warning lights. The generator will also provide ground to the "BRAKE" warning, low fuel warning, and charge warning lights until the engine is running. The lights go ON to test the light bulbs and then go OFF after the engine is started.
