Timing Cover: Service and Repair

1. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
2. Remove water pump.
3. Remove A/C compressor and bracket, if equipped, and position aside, then remove power steering pump bracket.
4. Disconnect lower radiator hose from front cover and heater hose from water pump.
5. Remove remaining front cover attaching bolts and stud, then the front cover.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Clean mating surfaces of oil, water and old gasket sealer.
b. Apply RTV and anaerobic sealer, then install new gasket.
c. Tighten bolts and studs to specification.
7. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
