Thermostatic Air Cleaner Vacuum Motor: Service and Repair

Vacuum Motor:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
- Air cleaner.
- Vacuum hose from motor.
- Drill out two spot welds initially with a 1.6mm (1/16in) drill bit, then enlarge as required to remove retainer strap. DO NOT DAMAGE SNORKEL TUBE.
- Retainer strap.
- Lift motor up, cocking to one side to unhook the motor linkage at the damper assembly.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
- Drill a 2.8mm (7/64in) hole in the center of the retainer strap.
- Motor linkage to damper door.
- Use the motor retainer strap and screw provided in the service package to secure motor to snorkel.
- Make sure screw does not interfere with linkage or door. Shorten screw if needed.
- Vacuum hose.
- Air cleaner.
