Charging System: Description and Operation
	The basic
charging system is the Intergrated Circuit (IC) integral regulator charging system. The
alternator features a solid state regulator that is mounted inside the alternator. All regulator components are enclosed in a solid mold, and this unit, along with the
brush holder assembly, is attached to the slip ring end frame. The alternator voltage setting cannot be adjusted. The alternator
rotor bearings contain enough grease to eliminate the need for periodic maintenance. Models equipped with the 3.1L/V6-191 engine use the Delco CS-130 alternator. The CS-130 alternator is serviced as a complete assembly only. No internal repair parts are available.
