Service Information

IMPORTANT!
Depending upon inspection results, all driver and passenger front seat belt buckles of affected Rodeo and SIA-built Pickup vehicles will require installation of either seat belt guides or replacement release buttons, as described in this Campaign Bulletin.

Condition:
The bottom of the red plastic release button on the driver or passenger front seat belt buckle of affected vehicles could chip or crack. If the release button chips, pieces could fall into the buckle, which could prevent the buckle from latching or unlatching properly.

Possible Cause:
Analysis indicates that this condition is caused from the release button being struck by the tongue plate during latching. If the release button is struck repeatedly or with sufficient force, it could chip or crack.

Correction:
To prevent the problem from occuring, the driver and passenger front seat belt buckles of all affected vehicles will be inspected and will have either seat belt guides or new release buttons installed (refer to the Service Procedure section in this Campaign Bulletin for details).

After installation of either the seat belt guides or new release buttons, the seat belt buckle must be tested for proper operation. Servicing the seat belt buckles as described in the Service Procedure section of this Campaign Bulletin, will ensure safe and proper seat belt operation. However, if the seat belt buckle fails to operate properly after repair, call the Isuzu Care Team Line at 1-800-666- 3411 for further instructions.

NOTE
The rear seat belts and the front center seat belt are excluded from this campaign.
