Passage Inspection and Service

SERVICE INSTRUCTIONS
If the EGR passage is restricted it should be cleaned. Care should be taken to ensure all loose particles are removed after service to prevent possible EGR valve clogging or ingestion by the engine.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
- EGR valve.

INSPECTION
- Using compressed air, confirm that the passage in the manifold is not restricted. If the passage is clogged, replace manifold.

CLEANING
- Using a wire wheel, clean the surface and recess around the valve.
- Using a pick or other suitable tool, clean deposits from valve passage.
- Using a wire wheel, clean the surface of the intake manifold.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
- EGR valve.
