Water Pump: Service and Repair

Fig. 55 Water pump assembly:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable and drain coolant from radiator.
2. Remove serpentine drive belt.
3. Remove radiator fan shroud, fan and clutch as an assembly.
4. Remove water pump pulley.
5. Remove clamps and hoses.
6. Remove water pump mounting bolts.
7. Remove water pump and water pump gasket, Fig. 55.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Torque water pump to engine retaining bolts to specification.
