Removal and Installation




FRONT OIL SEAL

Removal and Installation


REMOVAL

1.Drain gear oil. Refer to "Draining" Draining.
2.Remove transmission assembly. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Transmission Assembly.





3.Remove mounting bolts (Black arrow) and sealing bolts (1).
4.Remove front cover and front cover gasket from transmission case.





5.Remove front oil seal from front cover using a flat-bladed screwdriver.

CAUTION:
Never damage front cover.

INSTALLATION






1.Install front oil seal (1) to front cover using the drift (A) [SST:
KV38102100 (J-25803-01)].





CAUTION:
Never incline front oil seal.
2.Install front cover gasket and front cover to transmission case.

CAUTION:
- Never reuse front cover gasket.
- Never damage front oil seal.
- Remove any moisture, oil, or foreign material adhering to both mating surfaces.





3.Temporarily tighten mounting bolt (Black arrow) and sealing bolt (1).





4.Temporarily tighten mounting bolts (Black arrow) and sealing bolts (1).





5.Tighten mounting bolts (Black arrow) and sealing bolts (1) to the specified torque in the numerical order as shown in the figure.
6.Install transmission assembly. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Transmission Assembly.
7.Refill gear oil. Refer to "Refilling" Refilling.
