VDC Off Switch

VDC OFF SWITCH

Description

VDC OFF switch can deactivate (turn OFF) the VDC/TCS function by pressing the VDC OFF switch.


Diagnosis Procedure


1. CHECK VDC OFF SWITCH CIRCUIT

1.Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2.Disconnect ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) harness connector.
3.Disconnect VDC OFF switch harness connector.
4.Check the continuity between VDC OFF switch harness connector and ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) harness connector.





5.Check the continuity between VDC OFF switch harness connector and ground.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 2.
NO- Repair or replace error-detected parts.

2. CHECK VDC OFF SWITCH

Check the VDC OFF switch. Refer to "Component Inspection" .
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 3.
NO- Replace VDC OFF switch. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Service and Repair.

3. CHECK CONNECTOR

1.Disconnect combination meter harness connector.
2.Check the connector and terminal for deformation, disconnection, looseness, etc.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 4.
NO- Repair or replace error-detected parts.

4. CHECK VDC OFF SWITCH SIGNAL

Select "ABS", "DATA MONITOR" and "OFF SW" in order with CONSULT, and perform the VDC OFF switch inspection.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES- INSPECTION END
NO- Replace ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit). Refer to "Exploded View" Exploded View.


Component Inspection


1. CHECK VDC OFF SWITCH

1.Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2.Disconnect VDC OFF switch harness connector.
3.Check the continuity between VDC OFF switch connector terminals.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES- INSPECTION END
NO- Replace VDC OFF switch. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Service and Repair.


Special Repair Requirement


1. ADJUSTMENT OF STEERING ANGLE SENSOR NEUTRAL POSITION

Always perform the neutral position adjustment for the steering angle sensor, when replacing the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) or steering angle sensor and removing steering angle sensor. Refer to BRC9, "ADJUSTMENT OF STEERING ANGLE SENSOR NEUTRAL POSITION : Special Repair Requirement"
