Power Mirror Motor: Testing and Inspection

DOOR MIRROR MOTOR

Description

It makes mirror face operate from side to side and up and down with the electric power that automatic drive positioner control unit supplies.


Component Function Check


1. CHECK DOOR MIRROR MOTOR FUNCTION

1.Turn ignition switch ON.
2.Select "DOOR MIRROR MOTOR LH" and "DOOR MIRROR MOTOR RH" in "Active test" mode using
CONSULT.
3.Check the door mirror motor operation.





Is the operation of relevant parts normal?
YES- INSPECTION END
NO- Perform diagnosis procedure. Refer to "Diagnosis Procedure" .


Diagnosis Procedure


1. CHECK DOOR MIRROR MOTOR INPUT SIGNAL

1.Turn ignition switch OFF.
2.Disconnect door mirror connector.
3.Turn ignition switch ON.
4.Check voltage between door mirror connector and ground.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES- Replace door mirror. Refer to "DOOR MIRROR ASSEMBLY : Removal and Installation" Removal and Installation.
NO- GO TO 2.

2. CHECK HARNESS CONTINUITY

1.Turn ignition switch OFF.
2.Disconnect automatic drive positioner control unit connector.
3.Check continuity between automatic drive positioner control unit connector and door mirror connector.

4.Check continuity between automatic drive positioner control unit connector and ground.

[Door mirror passenger side]





Is the inspection result normal?
YES- Replace automatic drive positioner control unit. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal and Installation.
NO- Repair or replace harness.
