APPLIED VEHICLES 2011-2012 M37/M56 (Y51)

IF YOU CONFIRM:

The 4 Wheel Active Steer (4WAS) warning light is "ON" with ALL of the following DTCs stored:

^ C1631, C1930 and C1138

^ C1A04, related to the ABS actuator, may also be stored. If C1A04 is stored perform ACTION first, then re-check for DTCs.

ACTION:

IMPORTANT:
If any other DTCs are present, other than those listed in IF YOU CONFIRM, this bulletin does not apply. Refer to Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for the appropriate diagnostic procedures.

1. Refer to the ESM and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedures for each DTC stored.

> Repair each system as necessary and retest for DTCs.

2. If DTCs reset after "repair and confirmation" replace the 4WAS Control Unit with part number listed in PARTS INFORMATION below.

> Refer to the ESM for procedure to replace 4WAS Control Unit.

3. Clear all DTCs stored and confirm that none reoccur.

NOTE:
Any DTCs present after ACTION is performed are not covered by this bulletin. Refer to ESM for the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
