C1199 BRAKE BOOSTER

Description

The brake booster pressure sensor of engine converts the vacuum pressure to an electric signal and transmits it to the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) by CAN.

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE


1. DTC REPRODUCTION PROCEDURE

1.Turn the ignition switch ON.
2.Perform self-diagnosis for "ABS" with CONSULT-III.
Is DTC "C1199" detected?
YES- Proceed to diagnosis procedure. .
NO- INSPECTION END


Diagnosis Procedure


1. CHECK BRAKE BOOSTER AND VACUUM HOSE

Check brake booster and vacuum hose.
- Brake booster: Inspection and Adjustment.
- Vacuum hose: Inspection.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 2.
NO-Replace brake booster or vacuum hose.
- Brake booster: Exploded View.
- Vacuum hose: Exploded View.

2. CHECK THE ECM

1.Check the DTC "P0555" display with the self-diagnosis function of "ENGINE" with CONSULT-III, and repair or replace error-detected parts. P0555.
2.After repair or replace, erase self-diagnosis results for "ENGINE" and "ABS" with CONSULT-III.
-"ENGINE": On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System.
-"ABS": Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.
3.Perform the self-diagnosis again, and check that the malfunction is repaired completely.
- INSPECTION END


Special Repair Requirement


1. ADJUSTMENT OF STEERING ANGLE SENSOR NEUTRAL POSITION

Always perform the neutral position adjustment for the steering angle sensor, when replacing the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) or steering angle sensor and removing steering angle sensor. Special Repair Requirement
