Service Procedure
SERVICE PROCEDURENOTE:
Use protective covers as needed to protect interior surfaces.
1. Open the trunk.
2. Remove 4 clips from the trunk front finisher (see Figure 1).
3. Pull down on the trunk front finisher just enough to access and disconnect the sunshade motor electrical connector.
4. Remove the rear seat bottom:
a. Pull tabs at the front of the seat (left and right side).
b. Pull UP on the front of the seat bottom to remove.
C. Place seat bottom in a clean safe area.
5. Remove all 3 rear seat headrests:
a. Push on the release tab.
b. Pull the headrest UP to remove.
6. Remove rear seatbelts from the seatback shoulder brackets (left side and right side).
7. Remove 4 bolts for the rear seatback.
^ 2 bolts on the driver side shown.
^ 2 bolts on the passenger side not shown.
NOTE:
It is not necessary to remove seatbelt anchor bolts for this procedure.
8. Remove the rear seat back:
a. 1st, pull out a little on the bottom of seatback.
b. 2ND, lift UP to release and remove.
c. Place the seatback in a clean safe area.
9. Remove the rear kicking plate inner - both sides (see Figure 8).
NOTE:
Passenger side shown driver side is the same.
a. Use a plastic trim tool (D) to disengage (snap loose) pawls in area A.
CAUTION:
Apply protective tape (E) on the parts to protect them from damage.
b. Lift up the rear kicking plate inner to disengage (snap loose) clip and pawls on area B.
c. Lift up the rear kicking plate inner while pulling it inboard to disengage (snap loose) pawls located on area C.
10. Remove wheelhouse garnish - both sides (see Figure 9):
NOTE:
Passenger side shown driver side is the same.
a. Remove clip A.
b. Remove garnish in the order (1, 2, 3) shown in Figure 9.
C. Use a plastic trim tool to disengage (snap loose) the pawls.
11. Remove the rear pillar finisher - both sides:
^ Use a plastic trim tool to release (snap loose) clips and remove finisher.
NOTE:
Driver side is shown passenger side is the same.
12. Remove 2 clips from the rear parcel shelf finisher (see Figure 11).
13. Remove the rear parcel shelf finisher:
a. Using both hands, pull up on the parcel shelf finisher to release (snap loose) clips.
b. Slide parcel shelf finisher down the seatbelts and lay it against the body panel.
NOTE:
Parcel shelf finisher does not need to be completely removed from the vehicle.
14. Remove the old sunshade assembly:
a. Remove 2 outer bolts, 10 mm hex (not shown).
b. Pull sunshade assembly forward to release 2 center clips.
15. Install the new sunshade assembly:
a. Make sure the electrical connector is pushed through the slot in the rear so it can be connected to the harness.
b. Slide assembly into the two center clips.
c. Install the two outer bolts.
16. Reassemble all other parts in reverse order.
