Interior - Driver's Power Seat Won't Adjust

IF YOU CONFIRM

The driver seat vertical or fore/aft adjustment switch dose not work at times,

ACTION

Follow the Service Procedure to modify the adjustment switch holes in the side finisher.





CLAIMS INFORMATION

IMPORTANT:
The purpose of ACTION (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire Service Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing the repair.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Move the seat back.











2. Remove the 2 screws from the front finisher (see Figures 1, 2 and 3).

^ One screw on the inboard side.

^ One screw on the outboard side.





3. Move the seat forward.





4. Remove both seat adjustment switch knobs.

^ Use a plastic trim tool as needed.





5. Carefully pull the side finisher to snap it loose.





6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the lumbar adjustment switch.





7. Set the finishers on a clean working area.

8. Separate the front finisher from the side finisher (it snaps loose).








9. Carefully modify the openings (holes) for the seat adjustment switches (see Figures 9 and 10).

^ Use small files or other suitable tools to make the hole modifications as shown in Figure 10.

^ Be careful - the allowable variation is only +/- 0.1mm. Making the hole larger than the specification may make it visible after the knobs are reinstalled.

10. Reinstall the seat finishers in reverse order.
