C1142 PRESS SENSOR





Description
The pressure sensor converts the brake fluid pressure to an electric signal and transmits it to the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit). [The pressure sensor is integrated in the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit).]

DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1.DTC REPRODUCTION PROCEDURE
1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
2. Perform self-diagnosis for "ABS" with CONSULT-III.
Is DTC "C1142" detected?
YES - Proceed to diagnosis procedure. SEE Diagnosis Procedure.
NO - INSPECTION END




Diagnosis Procedure
1.CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH
Check stop lamp switch system. C1116.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 2.
NO - Repair or replace malfunction component.
2.CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM
1. Check brake fluid leakage: Inspection.
2. Check front brake piping: Inspection.
3. Check rear brake piping: Inspection.
4. Check brake pedal: Inspection and Adjustment.
5. Check master cylinder: Inspection.
6. Check brake booster: Inspection And Adjustment.
7. Check brake booster pressure sensor: Inspection.
8. Check vacuum lines: Inspection.
9. Check front disc brake: Inspection(1 piston type), Inspection (4 piston type).
10. Check rear disc brake: Inspection (1 piston type), Inspection (2 piston type).
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 3.
NO - Repair or replace error-detected parts.
3.ABS ACTUATOR AND ELECTRIC UNIT (CONTROL UNIT) SELF-DIAGNOSIS
Perform self-diagnosis for "ABS" with CONSULT-III.
Is DTC "C1142" detected?
YES - Replace ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit).
NO - Check ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector. If any items are damaged, repair or replace error-detected parts.




Special Repair Requirement
1.ADJUSTMENT OF STEERING ANGLE SENSOR NEUTRAL POSITION
Always perform the neutral position adjustment for the steering angle sensor, when replacing the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit). Special Repair Requirement.
