Removal And Installation M/T Models





INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY


M/T MODELS : Removal and Installation


WORK STEP
When removing instrument panel assembly, combination meter, AV control unit, center console assembly take steps in the order shown by the number below.






WARNING:
Before servicing, turn ignition switch OFF, disconnect battery negative terminal and wait 3 minutes or more.

CAUTION:
When removing, always use a remover tool that is made of plastic.

REMOVAL
1. Remove shift lever knob. Removal And Installation.





2. Remove console finisher assembly.
1. Remove clips from rear of console finisher assembly, and then remove pawl of front.
2. Pull console finisher assembly upward to disengage from center console assembly.
3. Disconnect harness connectors.

Triangle: Pawl
Square: Metal Clip






3. Remove screws (B) of center console assembly front side with screw driver (A).





4. Disconnect console sub harness connectors (A).





5. Disconnect heated seat switch harness connector (A) (with heated seat).





6. Remove coin pocket fixing pawl using a remover tool (A), and then remove coin pocket (1).

Triangle: Pawl






7. Insert a deep-well socket wrench (A) to rotate adjusting nut to loosen cable sufficiently. Lever Type.





8. Remove console rear finisher.
1. Pull back the console rear finisher (1).
2. Disconnect inside key antenna connector (A).

Square: Metal Clip






9. Remove console mask.
1. Open the console lid.
2. Pull up console mask by using a remover tool (C), and disengage pawls.

Triangle: Pawl






10. Remove center console assembly.
1. Remove screws (C) of center console assembly rear side.
2. Lift up back side and pull back.





11. Remove cluster lid C.
1. Remove cluster lid C mounting screws (A).
2. Pull back cluster lid C (1).
3. Disconnect harness connectors.





12. Remove cluster lid D.
1. Remove cluster lid D mounting screws (A).
2. Pull back cluster lid D (1).
3. Disconnect harness connectors.

Triangle: Pawl

13. Remove display unit. Removal And Installation Base Audio Without Navigation.





14. Disconnect center speaker harness connector (A).
(with center speaker)
15. Remove screw (B).





16. Disconnect inside key antenna connector (A) and clip (B) located under audio unit.
17. Remove AV control unit. Removal And Installation Base Audio Without Navigation.
18. Remove front body side welt LH. Removal And Installation.
19. Remove front pillar garnish LH. Removal And Installation.





20. Disconnect antenna harness connectors (A) and then remove harness clips.

Circle: Clip






21. Remove instrument side finisher LH.
1. Insert a remover tool into lower space.
2. Pull the instrument side finisher LH (1) crosswise.

22. Remove instrument lower panel LH.
1. Remove hood opener mounting bolts (A). Hood Lock Control.
2. Remove data link connector mounting screws (B).
3. Pull back instrument lower panel LH (1).
4. Disconnect harness connectors.

Triangle: Pawl
Square: Metal Clip






23. Remove instrument finisher A.
Pull instrument finisher A (1) upward, and then disengage clips.

Circle: Clip






24. Remove instrument side panel LH.
1. Remove instrument side panel mounting screws (A).
2. Pull the instrument side panel LH (1) crosswise.

25. Remove driver air bag module. Removal And Installation.
26. Remove steering wheel. Removal And Installation.
27. Remove steering column covers.

CAUTION:
When removing the column covers, to facilitate the work operation remove first the steering wheel.










1. Remove steering column front lower cover (1).
2. Remove cluster lid A lower bracket (2).










3. Remove steering column mask (3) and screws.
4. Pull up steering column cover upper (4).
5. Remove steering column side cover RH (5). (with PADDLE SHIFTER)
6. Pull the steering column side cover LH (6) to the left side. (with PADDLE SHIFTER)
7. Disconnect ADP steering switch connector. (with ADP)
8. Remove steering column side cover LH (6).
9. Remove screws, and then remove steering column lower cover (7).

Triangle: Pawl

28. Remove spiral cable and steering angle sensor. Removal And Installation.
29. Remove combination switch. Removal And Installation.
30. Remove cluster lid A (Combination meter).





1. Remove knee protector mounting bolts (A) with power tool, and then remove knee protector (1).





2. Disengage harness cover mounting pawl (B) by using tool
(A) located under the column shaft.
3. Pull down harness cover (1).
(with Harness cover)





4. Remove cluster lid A (Combination meter) mounting bolts
(A).





5. Disconnect push button ignition switch harness connector
(A).
6. Pull back cluster lid A (Combination meter), and disconnect combination meter connectors.

NOTE:
For removal and installation of combination meter, Removal And Installation.





31. Remove meter bracket mounting bolts (A), and then remove meter bracket (1).
32. Remove front defroster grille LH. Front Defroster Grille.
33. Remove front defroster grille RH. Front Defroster Grille.
34. Remove front body side welt RH. Removal And Installation.
35. Remove front pillar garnish RH. Removal And Installation.





36. Remove instrument side finisher RH.
1. Insert a remover tool into lower space.
2. Pull the instrument side finisher RH (1) crosswise.

Circle: Clip
Triangle: Pawl






37. Remove instrument lower cover.
1. Pull downward, disengaged pawls.
2. Pull back instrument lower cover (1).

Triangle: Pawl

38. Remove glove box assembly.
1. Open the glove box.





2. Pull up glove box assembly (1).





3. Remove damper pin (2) of left side.





39. Remove instrument lower panel RH.
1. Remove instrument lower panel RH mounting screws (A) with power tool.
2. Pull back instrument lower panel RH (1).
3. Disconnect harness connector.





40. Remove instrument finisher B.
Pull instrument finisher B (1) upward then disengage clips and pawls.

41. Remove instrument side panel RH.
1. Remove instrument side panel mounting screws (A).
2. Pull the instrument side panel RH (1) crosswise.

42. Disconnect passenger air bag module connector. Removal And Installation.
43. Remove passenger air bag module fixing bolt. Exploded View.
44. Remove instrument panel assembly.
1. Remove defroster nozzle mounting clips (A).
2. Remove screws (B) and bolts (C) with power tool, and then remove instrument panel assembly (1).






CAUTION:
Cover tool with a shop cloth to prevent windshield glass being damaged.
3. Remove instrument panel assembly from passenger door opening portion.

CAUTION:
When removing instrument panel, 2 workers are required so as to prevent it from dropping.
45. Remove the following parts after removing instrument panel assembly.
- Center speaker: Removal And Installation Bose Audio Without Navigation.
- Passenger air bag module: Removal And Installation.
- Side ventilator grille LH/RH: Side Ventilator Grille.
- Inside key antenna: Removal And Installation.
- Combination meter: Removal And Installation.
- Center speaker grille
- Antenna feeder

INSTALLATION
Note the following item, and then install in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:
- Never use the steering wheel mounting nut after removal, replace with the new nut.
- Never use the driver air bag module mounting bolts after removal, replace with the new bolts.
- Never use the passenger air bag module mounting bolt after removal, replace with the new bolt.
