DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR WORK FLOW
Work Flow
DETAILED FLOW
1.INTERVIEW THE CUSTOMER FOR THE SYMPTOM
Interview the customer for the symptom (the condition and the environment when the incident/malfunction occurs).
- GO TO 2.
2.CHECK THE SYMPTOM
Check the symptom described by the customer.
- GO TO 3.
3.CHECK POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND
Check power supply and ground circuit for retractable hard top control unit. Refer to Roof Trunk Closure SUB Control Unit, "RETRACTABLE HARD TOP CONTROL UNIT : Diagnosis Procedure".
- GO TO 4.
4.CHECK PRECONDITIONS
Satisfy preconditions for retractable hard top system and monitor condition.
Are all conditions satisfied?
YES - GO TO 5.
NO (Power position) -Check power control system. Refer to Work Flow.
NO (Vehicle speed) -Check meter system. Refer to Work Flow.
NO (Tonneau board) -Check tonneau board switch. Refer to Component Function Check.
NO (Shift position) -Check back-up lamp switch circuit. Refer to Component Function Check.
NO (Trunk lid) -Check trunk room lamp switch. Refer to Component Function Check.
5.CHECK SELF DIAGNOSTIC RESULT
Check "Self Diag Result" with CONSULT-III
Is any DTC detected?
YES - GO TO 6.
NO - GO TO 8.
6.PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
Perform DTC Confirmation Procedure for the detected DTC, and then check that DTC is detected again.
At this time, always connect CONSULT-III to the vehicle, and check diagnostic results in real time.
NOTE:
When two or more DTCs are detected, refer to Retractable Hard Top Control Unit, and determine trouble diagnosis order.
Is DTC detected?
YES - GO TO 7.
NO - Refer to Intermittent Incident.
7.DETECT MALFUNCTIONING PART BY DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
Inspect according to Diagnostic Procedure of the system.
- GO TO 9.
8.DETECT MALFUNCTIONING SYSTEM BY SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS
Detect malfunctioning system according to SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS based on the confirmed symptom in step
2, and determine the trouble diagnosis order based on possible causes and symptom.
- GO TO 9.
9.REPAIR OR REPLACE THE MALFUNCTIONING PART
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.
- GO TO 10.
10.FINAL CHECK
- When DTC is detected in step 5, perform DTC Confirmation Procedure or Component Function Check again, and then check that the malfunction is repaired securely.
- When symptom is described by the customer, refer to confirmed symptom in step 2, and check that the symptom is not detected.
Does the symptom reappear?
YES - GO TO 2.
NO - INSPECTION END
