B172C ROOF STATUS SIGNAL (TRUNK)





Description
Retractable hard top control unit transmits retractable hard top open and close states to trunk closure sub-control unit, when receiving input signal from roof open/close switch. For the detail, refer to Component Description System Diagram System Description, "TRUNK LID CONTROL FUNCTION : System Description".

DTC DETECTION LOGIC

NOTE:
If two or more DTCs are detected, refer to Retractable Hard Top Control Unit, and determine trouble diagnosis order.






DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1. PERFORM DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1. Start engine.
2. Operate retractable hard top to fully open and fully close.
3. Check DTC.
Is DTC detected?
YES - Go to B171C.
NO - INSPECTION END




Diagnosis Procedure
1.CHECK TRUNK CLOSURE SUB-CONTROL UNIT OUTPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect trunk closure sub-control unit harness connector.
3. Turn ignition switch ON.
4. Check voltage between trunk closure sub-control unit harness connector and ground.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES - GO TO 3.
NO - GO TO 2.
2.CHECK TRUNK CLOSURE SUB-CONTROL UNIT OUTPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect retractable hard top control unit harness connector.
3. Check continuity between retractable hard top control unit harness connector and trunk closure sub-control unit harness connector.





4. Check harness for short to ground and short to power.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES - Replace retractable hard top control unit. Refer to Service and Repair.
NO - Repair or replace harness.
3.CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT
Refer to Intermittent Incident.
