SERVICE INFORMATION

If a 2000 G20 model exhibits a sulfur or "rotten egg" odor from the exhaust, particularly during idle operation, it may be caused by high levels of sulfur in the fuel.

Fuels sold in many states outside California contain high levels of sulfur.

There is an updated ECM program available to reduce this incident if it should occur.

IMPORTANT:
Do NOT replace the catalytic converter for this incident because this may only aggravate the incident.

Use the Service Procedure outlined below to address this incident.
