SERVICE INFORMATION

Paint Guard Film (PGF) and plastic door edge protectors applied at the factory on 1999-2000 130 and G20 door handles and door trailing edges should remain in place while vehicles are in dealer inventory (see Figure 1 for PGF and protector locations). These protective materials should only be removed at time of vehicle retail and just prior to delivery to the customer. Keeping these materials in place will help prevent paint scratches around the vehicle door handle and door trailing edge caused by door contact on dealer lots.

CAUTION: PGF should be removed within 6 months of the vehicle manufacture date. After this recommended time period1 PGF left on paint surfaces may cause staining and become difficult to remove.
