FUEL FILTER SERVICE KIT FOR GENESIS COUPE (BK)
DESCRIPTION:
This bulletin provides information regarding the fuel filter service kit for Genesis Coupe (BK) vehicles. The fuel filter service kit outlined in this bulletin should be used whenever it is necessary to replace the fuel filter.

PARTS INFORMATION
SERVICE PROCEDURE:
1. Remove the fuel pump service cover (located underneath the rear seat cushion) to access the fuel pump top plate screws.
2. Release the lock tab and disconnect the fuel pump wiring connector (D).
3. Idle the engine and wait until fuel in the fuel line is exhausted.
4. After the engine stops, turn the ignition switch off.
5. Unfasten the 8 bolts (8 mm) shown in the picture above and remove the fuel pump cover.
6. Press the release tabs and disconnect the fuel feed tube quick-connector (E) and return tube quick-connector (F).
7. Remove the fuel pump complete assembly from the fuel tank.
NOTE:
Take precaution to prevent any fuel from spilling in the vehicle.
8. Disconnect the fuel pump and sender connectors (G).
NOTE:
Release the lock tabs to disconnect the small connectors. Do not pull on the wires by itself. Fully seat the connectors until a "click" is heard when reassembling.
9. Gently pry the lock tabs to remove the fuel feed hose (H) from the fuel filter.
NOTE:
Do not over-extend the lock tabs.
10. Remove the fuel pump top plate (I) by releasing the 3 holding hooks positioned at intervals of 120° from the (I') hook.
11. Once the fuel pump top plate is detached, remove the fuel filter by releasing the 2 holding hooks. (There is one at "J" and another hook located at the opposite side of "J").
12. Remove the fuel pump pickup sock from the fuel pump by prying it away from the fuel pump inlet towards the arrow direction.
13. Remove the fuel pressure regulator (L) by releasing the holding hook (K).
14. Release the holding hooks (M) and remove the fuel filter from the bracket by separating it towards the arrow direction.
15. Remove the fuel pump (N) from the fuel filter by pushing it in the arrow direction.
16. Replace the fuel filter, return hose and bracket with a new fuel filter service kit.
17. Reassemble in reverse order of removal.
18. Verify normal engine starting and operation.
NOTE:
The ignition may need to be cycled 2~3 times to prime the fuel system pressure prior to restarting the engine for the first time.
