DESCRIPTION:
2011 ACCENT (MC) vehicles, are equipped with a BodySense Occupant Classification System for the right front seat passenger.
The BodySense system detects and classifies seat occupancy by using an electrical field sensor. The electrical field sensor is sensitive to electronic devices and moisture. Refer to the 2011 Accent Owner's Manual Section 1, Page 51 for more information.
The air bag warning lamp may illuminate with DTC B1448 - OC Passenger Sensor Mat Defect, if electronic devices such as a laptop computer, inverter, cellular phone, navigation device, satellite radio, video game machine, MP3 player, or wire cord connected to a power source are placed on or around the front passenger seat cushion.
DTC B1448 could also be set if the seat cushion is wet or if liquid is spilled on the seat cushion.
