DESCRIPTION:
Some Genesis Coupe vehicles may exhibit a vibration noise originating from the rear quarter inner panel.
APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
Model: Genesis Coupe (BK)
Applicable Vehicle Production Date Range: Dec 16, 2008 to Jan 30, 2009
PARTS INFORMATION
SERVICE PROCEDURE:
1. Partially remove the left door weatherstrip (A) and the scuff trim (B) bordering the left quarter inner panel.
2. Open the blanking cover (C) and remove the bolt. Remove the rear pillar trim (D).
NOTE:
Tightening torque : 4.9 ~ 5.8 Nm (0.5~0.6 kgf.m, 3.6~4.3 lbf.ft)
CAUTION:
Be careful not to damage the rear pillar trim.
3. Pull both the right and left rear seat belts to release them from the seat belt guides (E).
4. Release the latch on the upper seat back by pulling the latch release lever (F).
5. Fold the rear seat back (G).
6. Remove the left quarter inner lower trim (H).
CAUTION:
Be careful not to damage the trim.
NOTE:
The quarter inner lower trim is equipped with 6 retaining clips & 2 plastic screw clips.
7. Remove the left quarter inner panel cover by unfastening the 9 bolts.
NOTE:
To access the lower bolts, lift the seat cushion up.
NOTE:
Tightening torque: 0.5 ~ 0.6 kgf.m
CAUTION:
When reinstalling the quarter inner panel cover, first fasten the 2 bolts shown.
8. Apply the 120mm anti-squeak pads (I) supplied in the kit and the 80mm antisqueak pad (J) as shown.
9. Install all the removed components in reverse order of removal.
