Date: NOVEMBER 2010
Model: 2010 - 2011 MODELS LISTED
Subject
CARB OBD IN-USE MONITOR PERFORMANCE DATA COLLECTION (DCI)
NOTE:
The applicable vehicle list has been revised to remove all 2011MY Sonata and 2010MY Elantra SULEV, so claims for these models with RO date after 11/19/10 may be subject to chargeback. Be sure to confirm vehicle has an open DCI Data Collection in WebDCS. Please make sure you are following TSB procedures exactly. Please ensure that you send the "In Use Performance Report" per these TSB instructions; not the "Readiness Monitor" GDS data which is incorrect for this data collection.
IMPORTANT:
CALIFORNIA DEALERS MUST PERFORM THIS DATA COLLECTION ON VEHICLES WHENEVER AN AFFECTED VEHICLE IS IN THE SHOP FOR ANY MAINTENANCE OR REPAIR IF THE VEHICLE MEETS THE CRITERIA BELOW.
NOTE:
This Data Collection does not apply to vehicles or dealers operating outside of California.
DESCRIPTION:
This bulletin provides information and procedure for collecting OBD In-Use Monitor Performance (IUMPR) data from some 2010 and 2011 vehicles at California dealers. It is an important mandated reporting requirement to GARB (California Air Resource Board) for emissions compliance.
Affected vehicles must meet ALL of the following criteria to be eligible for DCI:
^ WebDCS shows this as an open Data Collection code DCI for the vehicle.
^ Vehicle has over 3000 miles on its odometer.
^ Vehicle repair history does not show battery replacement/disconnection/reset or an ECU Update done in the last 3000 miles, because IUMPR data would have been cleared.
^ Vehicle does not have a check engine light on.
^ Wait to conduct any other campaign or repair work until after this OBD in-use Monitoring Performance Data Collection is completed.

3. Make sure that you have conducted the latest internet update of your GDS software. 1.09 or higher to be able to read IUMPR values correctly.
4. Connect GDS to the vehicle and with the ignition on (engine does not need to be running) select ID Register under Vehicle S/W Management screen:
5. Select Engine and OK:
6. Select System Identification then read the Calibration ID and enter on the Vehicle Test Sheet:
NOTE:

7. Go back to the main page of the GDS and select CARB OBDII under Vehicle Diagnosis:
8. Select In Use Performance Tracking and maximize data display on the screen as shown to verify all data is displayed before it will be printed in the next step:
NOTE:
If all values indicate "Not Supported" or "0" check to make sure you have GDS software version 1.09 or later. If the software version is correct the vehicle will not qualify for this data collection, as it may have received a recent ECM Update or battery replacement/reset of the data values.
